A Different Approach to Veterinary Care
The idea for Your Back Pocket Vet grew out of my experiences with both human and veterinary medicine and a belief that something important is often missing: ongoing patient advocacy. Too often, people leave an appointment with unanswered questions, new concerns arise, or they simply aren’t sure what the next step should be. I wanted to create a kind of safety net between appointments—a continuous relationship with a veterinarian who can help you navigate your pet’s health, make sense of the information in front of you, and keep moving forward toward the shared goal of better health, wellness, and longevity.
That philosophy also shapes how I practice medicine. I draw from both conventional and functional veterinary medicine. Conventional medicine gives us powerful tools to diagnose and treat disease, while functional medicine encourages us to look deeper at the underlying factors contributing to disease and the foundations of healthy metabolic function. My goal isn’t simply to address illness when it occurs, but to continually look for opportunities to improve health, prevent disease when possible, and help our pets live longer, healthier lives.
